Case Study

The following is a typical case study that represents a cable analysis for one market, in this sample it is a bank in Minneapolis whose goal was to increase home equity loans in the Minneapolis market. The actual buy was for 40 markets and each market received the same analysis and presentation that is described here. The first step is to define the objectives.

Objectives

Determine where bank locations are geographically. In this case, they are in four counties within the DMA.

    • Identify the ZIP Codes which have the highest potential to purchase a home equity loan

    • Identify the corresponding cable systems in the targeted geography by electronically matching ZIP Codes to cable systems

    • Determine which cable networks should be purchased by utilizing Nielsen Cable Audience Profiles Ratings

    • Develop an efficient schedule with specific point goals

    • Using the above process, determine a targeted, efficient budget

Once the objectives are clearly defined we prepare a detailed map analysis that graphically shows the relationship between targeted households and the corresponding cable systems that cover those geographic areas.
